Grown Ups, fences, Oklahoma

I remember in college, laughing at Frank the Tank's line in Old School and thinking, "that's funny because it sounds lame."

Now I think it's funny because it's true, although I'm more of a Lowes man myself. (In fact, I believe it is fair to assume that most home-owners would gladly appreciate home improvement gift cards as regular gifts.)

In the Summer, I work 4, 10hr days, giving me Fridays off. Great time to sleep in, watch some movies, or play video games, right? Well, I don't think I've done much, if any of that this summer.

What did I do this morning?

Oh, not much. Just this:

I wanted to share something interesting though. This fence repair was kind of an experiment for me. We had a company come quote a price and the lady said "Honestly, I'd feel bad for charging you to do this. It's 3 posts and you seem like you're in good enough shape to take care of it. Just make sure you let the cement set for 48hrs before putting the fence back up."

First of all, thanks for thinking I'm "in shape" and secondly, 48 hours!! Are you kidding me? We have dogs. I want my fence up in a few hours? What can I do?

She said "nothing."
I said thought "bullsh*t."

That's where Oklahoma comes in.

Now there are very few things I like from the state that gave us Hanson and weak beer.
Among those likable things are My brother-in-law, Dan. My friend, Adam Chop. And now, Secure Set.

No heavy concrete bags, no waiting DAYS to put the fence back. We had our holes dug by 12:30, ate lunch, then placed the poles and poured the goop in where the cement should have gone. In 45 minutes we had posts that were solid as a rock and 30 minutes later the fence was securely set back in it's place.

I'll let you know if it's still up in 20 years (or days).
