Food Stuffs

So a friend of mine started up a website. WacoFork.com. Some people say that Waco is too small to need a restaurant directory. Well, I've lived here for 18+ years, and I've seen some of these places open up. But there are also a good number that I've never tried or even heard of!

It's true. Compared to the Austins and Dallases of these United States, Waco is small. But there are some great places to eat here. I know some of you are saying "just use Urbanspoon."

Well, have you ever tried to use Urbanspoon in a sub-urban area? It's like asking a 5-year-old if they want to eat at McDonalds, kentucky fried chicken...er KFC, or Pizza Hut. The same corporate restaurants over and over again.

I want the Mom and Pop diners. The hole-in-the-wall Tex-Mex. The Vietnamese cuisine that you only notice because the building has an odd pink hue to it.

Sure, they list the big boys (and girls. I didn't forget you Wendy's and DQ.) But if you are from Waco, just coming to visit, or simply doing time going to college here, check it out. I bet you a high-five that you will find a place on the list you have never heard of. And you might just find your new favorite restaurant.
